How the design is put together

A stylized Santa head sits prominently against a backdrop of bold, vertical red and white candy cane stripes. The illustration depicts a jolly face with rosy cheeks, a bright red nose, and a thick white beard rendered in a soft, painterly texture. A small cluster of green holly leaves and red berries rests on the side of his red hat, adding a natural detail to the graphic composition. The lettering is absent, allowing the iconic imagery and the rhythmic striping to carry the entire festive message. This artwork belongs to the genre of vintage holiday illustrations, reminiscent of greeting cards from the 1950s or 60s. The contrast between the organic curves of the painted beard and the rigid straight lines of the background creates a balanced visual rhythm that feels both playful and structured.
