A closer look at the print

The artwork presents a stylized map of New Hampshire populated by charming illustrations that represent the state's diverse activities and nature. At the top left, a squirrel sits near a stone monument while another character skis down a snowy slope nearby. The central area highlights the White Mountains and Lake Winnipesaukee, surrounded by evergreen trees and towns like Concord and Laconia. On the right side, raccoons hold red apples amidst falling leaves and large orange pumpkins, signaling the harvest season. A compass rose anchors the bottom left corner, while the phrase Live Free or Die appears in a ribbon above a red star marking the capital. The entire composition uses a hand-drawn aesthetic with warm earth tones and soft greens to evoke a sense of outdoor adventure and rustic charm.

Quick questions

What does the motto on the towel mean?: The phrase Live Free or Die is the official state motto of New Hampshire, appearing prominently near the bottom of the map. It reflects the state’s long-standing tradition of independence and individualism. Seeing this slogan on your kitchen towel connects your daily chores to the historic values of the Granite State.
Is this design specific to New Hampshire locals?: Yes, the towel features specific locations like Mt. Washington and Lake Winnipesaukee alongside local wildlife such as raccoons and squirrels. It appeals most to those familiar with the region’s geography or anyone who has traveled through the White Mountains. The detailed city names make it a personal tribute to the area.
How does this map differ from standard state towels?: Unlike simple outlines, this version is an illustrated scene packed with characters and seasonal elements like skiing and pumpkins.
